About the event

South African singer and songwriter, Anne-Marie van Eeden, and two musicians will be coming all the way from Switzerland to perform at Bessels Green Baptist Church on Saturday evening 22nd April. Anne-Marie, Calen Gayle (flute and vocals), Udi Benyamin (drums) as well as local violinist, Zoe Wood, will perform songs from Anne-Marie's new album (Optelwoorde), as well as a few old favourites. Anne-Marie will also be sharing some of the inspiring stories behind her songs.

Her music can be labelled as world music - a unique cross-over style between classical, jazz and folk sounds. She continues to sing in her mother tongue, Afrikaans, but also in English and French. She writes her own lyrics and compositions, and also sets beloved South African poetry to music.

She has performed widely in South Africa and abroad and is often invited to perform her songs together with her powerful testimony. Anne-Marie will share about the healing she found in Jesus Christ following her son's tragic death as well as the freedom that comes from forgiveness.
